Rolex introduced the ref. 5513 Submariner, a no-date model, in 1962. The model would undergo several slight changes to the dial before its withdrawal from the market in the mid-1980s. With its clean, balanced design, it has remained sought-after by collectors of vintage Rolex.
The present watch is an example of the non-serif, two-line ref. 5513 with feet listed first in the depth rating. This iteration of the 5513, introduced in the late 1970s, carries the caliber 1520 movement, which was not COSC-certified--hence its lack of "officially certified" on the dial. With the tritium on the hour markers and Mercedes hands faded to a warm yellow, the present watch is a fine example of the timeless appeal of the ref. 5513.
