Bell & Ross has often looked back at their vintage watches to inspire the design of new models. Many of the vintage pieces were tool watches – used for aviation or by the military. The Vintage Original line of watches are round watches (many of Bell & Ross’s watches are in a squre-shaped case) with an easy to read dial layout and include chronograph models. The present watch is part of the Vintage Original 126 Chronograph line and is cased in steel with a PVD black coating. The dial features numerals that have an “aged” look to their luminous color, adding to the vintage-inspired feel.
The difference in texture on the dial, subdials, and case allow for a nice legibility, and the patinated color of the numerals and hands contrast nicely against the dark dial and case. The engravings on the back add to the military feel of the watch, but does not dictate that the watch is for sport only. With the combination of black pvd case, black dial, and patinated numerals, the design of the Bell & Ross Vintage 126 Chronograph is classic and wearable for daily use.
